Senior Director – Operations
Missoula Interfaith Collaborative & Missoula Works 

Missoula Interfaith Collaborative (MIC) is a growing network of 32 congregations working together with nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community members to address some of Missoula’s most pressing challenges.

MIC brings people and organizations together to move beyond simply responding to community problems toward building practical, collaborative solutions. Over the years, MIC has helped catalyze initiatives addressing family homelessness, hunger, sexual violence, prison recidivism, mental health, and community belonging.

 Missoula Works (under the umbrella of MIC) is a social enterprise business that creates employment opportunities for people who face barriers to traditional employment while providing practical services to the Missoula community. Through its lawn, landscaping and labor Get It Done Crew, Missoula Works connects workers with businesses, organizations, and community members who need projects completed, creating opportunities for meaningful work, skill development, stability, and connection.

MIC and Missoula Works are seeking an experienced senior level Operations Director, to provide internal leadership for the organization and strengthen the systems that support this growing work. 

The Opportunity

This person will be part of the senior leadership team, along with the Executive Director and Program Director, providing strategic leadership for the organization as a whole.  The Operations Director is a key organizational leader responsible for ensuring that MIC and its programs have the people, financial systems, operational structures, and accountability systems needed to succeed.

This is a highly collaborative position for someone who enjoys both big-picture strategy and practical implementation with a heavy emphasis on the latter. The Operations Director will work across MIC’s programs and with staff, board members, financial professionals, property managers, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands non-profits and businesses and enjoys running and improving organizational systems.

 Key Responsibilities

 Financial Systems & Organizational Strategy

• Oversee MIC’s financial systems, including internal reporting, external compliance, financial performance, and relationships with financial institutions.

 Missoula Works Operations & Program Development

• Lead the operational development of Missoula Works, including supervision of the Program Manager, performance tracking, and development of Missoula Works employment and training partnerships.

 Program Accountability & Operations

• Ensure MIC programs have clear goals, effective operational systems, performance measures, and accountability structures.

 Human Resources & Staff Development

• Lead MIC’s human resources systems and staff development, including supervision, training, evaluations, employee support, and compliance.

 Property & Building Management

• Oversee MIC’s rental properties and facilities, working with external property management to ensure effective tenant management, maintenance, and stewardship.

 New Program Development

• Develop and implement operational systems for new programs and initiatives, including the upcoming mental health center integration.

Compensation: Full-time, salaried position $72,000 year.  Exempt union position.  Benefits include health insurance, generous paid time off and holiday pay.
